Marcia Hahn (R-Northampton) are announcing the award of a nearly $321,000 grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) Pipeline Investment Program that will allow natural gas service to be extended to Keystone Cement Company in East Allen Township. The grant will be administered by the Lehigh Valley Economic Investment Corporation, which serves as an intermediary between business owners and financial institutions or economic development financing programs in the Commonwealth.

HARRISBURG – The state House today moved the General Assembly one step closer to finalizing a spending plan for 2019-20 by passing House Bill 790, the General Appropriations portion of the state budget, by a 140-62 margin, according to state Rep. WHAT: The House Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest), will hold a public hearing to save our health care by studying the issue of venue with respect to medical malpractice lawsuits in Pennsylvania. At issue is a proposal to the court to unilaterally repeal a rule that prevents medical malpractice plaintiffs from filing civil lawsuits in counties with more favorable jury payouts. Since it was adopted in the early 2000s, the rule has helped stabilize medical malpractice insurance rates, keeping doctors practicing in Pennsylvania and alleviating a shortage of physicians and specialists.
